Job Description

As a Patient Account Representative, you will be responsible for managing patient self-pay balances, addressing patient inquiries, and supporting collections efforts. The ideal candidate is a self-starter who excels in communication, time management, and has experience in patient account collections.

Key Responsibilities

  • Answer and respond to patient inquiries regarding self-pay balances.
  • Review self-pay credit balances and process refund requests as necessary.
  • Assess self-pay balances and determine the next steps, including collections if required.
  • Document patient interactions and maintain accurate account records.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to ensure patient issues are resolved promptly.
  • Handle sensitive patient information with the highest level of confidentiality and professionalism.
  • Other Revenue Cycle Management (RCM) duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Proven experience in patient account collections or a related field.
  • General entry-level office skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office and basic data entry.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with a focus on patient care.
  • Ability to work independently, manage time effectively, and meet deadlines.
  • High level of reliability, honesty, and professionalism.
  • Strong organizational skills with attention to detail.
